Located on the shores of Jinji Lake, the Suzhou Science, Culture, and Arts Center was designed by Paul Andreu. Its exterior features a double-layered perforated aluminum curtain wall inspired by the texture of Suzhou silk, achieved through seamless assembly using just 36 different modular patterns. The aluminum panels are coated with a fluorocarbon finish, and at night, LED lighting shines through the perforations to create shifting colors. The building is often referred to as Suzhou’s “Bird’s Nest.”
